This year, 2015, has been the exception to that rule in my life by a long shot. I couldn't really predict or plan anything that happened for us this year. And everything we tried to plan, didn't happen the way I wanted or expected.
And that's okay. I've learned to let go a lot this year. Because even though I didn't plan most of them, we had a lot of pretty awesome stuff go our way this year. It wasn't all roses for sure, but in the end I believe it all worked out for the best anyway.
So let's recap, shall we?
January
Almost exactly a year ago, we welcomed this little fluff ball into our lives. She is such a good pup. (usually. Still working on the potty stuff some days, but she's wayyy better now. lol)
Jack loves her. He's her best buddy and she's had quite a first year of life. So glad Miss Frejya joined our family.
February
I unexpectedly found a job opportunity, on a whim I applied for it and I got it! It was a major career change for me. (from journalism to marketing.)
March
Jack turned TWO! Some days I can't believe how quickly those first two years just flew by and then other days I can't believe he's ONLY two.
April
This spring we had my little sister move in with us for the summer. It was a blast. I am still bummed she moved back to Colorado, but I guess it's a good thing she did since she found love and happiness and blah blah. ;) So I won't hold it against her.
May
Nothing too exciting happened in May, but the weather finally evened out and we got to have some fun and adventures with friends.
June
We took our first full family vacation to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone. This was so much fun. I wish we could do it again this year (not likely with a new baby, but maybe next year.) The weather was gorgeous and the scenery was absolutely perfect. Jack had a blast and it was so great to get to do something new.
July
We celebrated the 4th of July with family!
I also got a little older - 28.
August
Despite this being one of the biggest complications of our year, watching Frejya get pregnant (in June, very unintentionally) and have puppies was a cool experience.
Traveled to AZ and saw my beautiful cousin get married and got to see other family I hadn't seen in a long time.
September
Dan hit the big 3-0!
Went home for the annual Melon Days celebration.
Found out that Jack was going to be a big brother! (That was a surprise for everyone!)
October
I officially quit my job and became a stay at home mom. It was a big change for all of us, but probably one of the best things to happen to us this year. Daniel might disagree on bill-paying day though. :P
Went to SLC on a trip to send the puppies to their forever homes and we got to do some really fun activities with family!
November
We officially announced our pregnancy and I hit the second trimester.
We had a great Thanksgiving holiday and spent it with family in GR.
December
Found out we were going to be adding a baby GIRL to the family!
Christmas with family and friends was a blast!
It's been quite the year. Some months more eventful than others, but for the most part, it was a pretty great year. This next year is likely to be just as eventful, if not more so. I want to plan it all out. So badly. But so much of it is out of my control, so I am going to let go and see what falls in our path.
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all have a great day and rest of the year.
