It meant the magic was over. I felt like I couldn't watch Christmas movies anymore or sing carols.
But now that I'm an adult, I'm like, WHEW. ALL DONE.
In a good way. I can appreciated Christmas for what it is and how we choose to celebrate and I can be oh so very glad when the pressure is off, yo.
That said, this was a really great Christmas. We went to my in-laws on Christmas Eve for yummy food, funny stories, present giving and lots of good conversation with great people.
Jack crashed on the way home so we didn't get to read T'was The Night Before Christmas and he missed getting cookies ready for Santa. Next year. ;)
Although don't worry, Santa still got her fill of sweets. lol.
Friday morning we woke up, the three of us, and had so much fun watching jack open presents.
He really is the sweetest. We didn't go crazy on the gifts this year because Jack is still little and we have a new baby to pay for. Ha!
But every present he opened he was so excited and so grateful. It was so sweet to see. I feel like a lucky mama. :)
Yesterday was also my first time making a holiday dinner by myself. Daniel cooked the roast and I did the sides.
We had my grandpa over for dinner and it was so fun.
I was impressed with how it all turned out. It definitely wasn't Pinterest worthy, but Jack ate a bunch of it, so anyone who knows how picky he is will realize that is a true win. Lol.
We spent the rest of the day playing with new toys and visiting with family.
Oh, and watching Star Wars. Ha.
I am truthfully still recovering today. I think a lazy Saturday is perfectly in order today.
I hope you all had a great holiday!
