Home Sweet Home

Hey blog readers!

Just got home from a fabulous weekend at my parent's house in my home town for the annual Melon Days celebration.

Here's mah weekend recap :)

We actually got to leave our house a day early compared to normal so it was nice to not have such a rushed trip.

Me and Rusty ready to go!

Ca-Rashed!

Our first day we just hung out mostly and played in my parent's huge backyard. Jack especially liked that!

Friday we went to check out some of the festivities and Jack got his first taste of a Texas Twister. It was tasty but probably not $7 tasty, in my opinion :)

Dan was a fan :)

Friday night my sisters and I went to the Melon Days Queen Pageant. Sounds silly but it's a time honored tradition in my town. In fact, I was a queen back in 2004, my senior year of high school, sci he means I'm OLD. Dang.

P.s. We love selfies. Also, my sissy Nicki was melon queen 5 years ago. We're awesome.

Saturday was the big parade. Aka Jack's fave part of the weekend. He loved the floats, the candy and the helicopter that kept flying over the crowd.

"COPTER!!!"

Selfies!

The Tula kept this little guy from running out into the street during parade. Great tool :)

Shades, yo.

"Candy? Candy? More?"

We then had our obligatory and DELICIOUS slice of watermelon.

We didn't stay long at the park's festivities though because allergies were kicking my a$$. I missed out on seeing quite a few people I wanted to see. So if I missed you and you're reading this, I'm sorry! Next year at our ten year reunion I won't miss it for anything!

It was super fun just chilling at my moms though. It's been a long time since I've been able to relax like that.

Sunshine + porch swing = relaxxxxx

We spent most of the weekend playing on this slide.

Eating a LOT. And star gazing.

Oh, and did I mention Jack is obsessed with trains?

My parents have a railroad just down the street. Literally. If the train derailed it would crash into my parents house. I used to worry about that happening all the time when I was a kid. Lol.

Anyway, every time Jack heard the train he'd scream, "TRAIN!!! It's a TRAIN! See the TRAIN!!"

I died. Hysterical.

Except when a train went by at 5 in the morning and he demanded to wake up and see it. We didn't, but he really wanted to.

We spent today driving home, passengers including my grandpa and my brother Rusty who is stating with is for a while longer. It was fun but I am oh do glad to be home!

Have a great week everyone!

Xoxo
