Daniel came home for the weekend. (Yay!) so on Saturday we went to the Apple Valley annual Chili Cookoff competition and gorged ourselves on delicious chilis and burgers in the town where my grandpa lives (near us.)
It took place at the fire station so Jack was stoked about getting to see the huge fire trucks.
It was windy but we toughed it out so Jack could play outside during the event.
He even made some little friends, which was so cute. At one point he went and picked her a dandelion and was like, "here, I picked this for you!" I died of cutes. Haha.
After the cookoff we went with Dan's parents and some of Jack's cousins to see the new Jungle Book movie. It was good! Jack liked it although he did get a little scared at some parts and fell asleep at the end. Lol. Unfortunately I didn't get pics of this but it was fun.
Sunday we mostly spent the day hanging out and doing family stuff.
We also went to the park and had a picnic because the weather was perfect!
Then we came home and Jack really wanted to play in some water so we connected the hose and he washed off our concrete patio. Lol. He had a blast.
It was great to have some quality family time this weekend. Given our circumstances right now, it's really nice to appreciate the time we go get to spend together.
