This is Halloween...

Halloween was kind of a bust this year for us, I'll admit. None of us were really feeling into the "spirit" of things. Just a lot going on and it's been a stressful time. I thought for sure Jack would be excited because last year Trick or Treating was his JAM.

He didn't want to stop. We went to so many houses last year and got so much candy. This year, we got maybe 10 pieces of candy. No joke. Candy scrooges out there, man. Even the bowl of candy that we had to hand out to trick or treaters I figured would be gone in an hour, but we still have half of it left at least!

I wonder if more people are choosing to participate in other kinds of activities. A bunch of my adult friends/family went to adult-themed parties. And others went to Trunk-or-Treat style events instead. Weird! Times are a changing, I guess.

Still, Jack did briefly have a good time dressed up as a race car driver (Just like his fave characters from Blaze and the Monster Machines! Thanks, Nick Jr. for that one.)

Daniel and I didn't dress up at all. Although I did use the holiday as an excuse to wear my new NYX soft matte lip cream shade in "Transylvania." I felt pretty vampy. ;)

Jack mostly had a blast helping daddy hand out candy to the other kids. Every time I doorbell rang, he'd jump up and yell, "they're here! They're here! They need candy!"

It was too cute.

Sunday, we adjusted (not) to the time change by sleeping in too late and then heading to IHop for breakfast. We never do that sort of thing anymore because Jack isn't the easiest to take to restaurants since he's so picky. But kid does love him some breakfast food. I thought it would be good to split a waffle, eggs and bacon with him. He had at least 60 percent or more of the food! Guess I'll be getting him his own plate next time. lol.

Overall Sunday was kinda off because of the time change and the fact that Jack decided not to nap. So since it got dark at like 6, he was ready to crash. I barely got him to stay awake until 8, and by then he was in full over-tired-toddler-hates-life mode. Good times....

By Monday, he napped, still went to bed at 8 but was up by 6 a.m. This morning so I guess it's a good thing I went to bed when he did last night. :)

Hope you all had a great Halloween! I saw some super adorable/clever costumes again this year. Perhaps next year we'll feel a little more into it.

Oh, and Happy November everyone! Anyone dreaming of turkey yet? ;) YUM!
