No, I am NOT pregnant. So stop asking ;)
I am starting a new professional chapter in my life, rather. I am leaving the newspaper biz and am going to try my hand at marketing.
It was a decision I didn't make lightly. Being a journalist has been my dream since I was a high school freshman, but I do want to do something new and learn more about my skills as a professional. And I'd be lying if I didn't admit I'd like to see my earning potential increase.
I still get to work part time. It'll be a pretty flexible schedule. I am really looking forward to the opportunity to do and try something new.
But I'm still sad about leaving. I have some awesome friends here, but fortunately, thanks to social media and texting it makes staying in touch lots easier.
The whole ordeal is very bitter sweet and I am a little bit nervous about doing something new. But I really feel like I need a new challenge in my life.
The way this all happened was pretty "meant to be," so I am just going to go with the flow of my life and go where the winds of change take me.
I want to also add a big thank you to all of my loyal readers over the years. You all have been so great in supporting me in what can be - at times - a very stressful career.
I'll miss reporting, but hopefully I'll love my new job too.
On to new things! Let's do this.
