Welcome to Modern Moms

Hey Folks!

Yeah, I'm here. I promise. I haven't abandoned ship. In fact, I'm here to tell you more about why I've been so busy these days.

In addition to my daily duties as a mom and reporter, I've started a new online Vlog series with my friend and co-worker Lisa. We are constantly chit chatting in the mornings each day about whatever our kids are doing or matters important to us. Just like most moms and dads, we enjoy talking about our children.

Lisa has a five-year-old daughter and son that is just a few months older than Jack. It's nice for me because I can get advice from her on occassion on certain things I'm going through with Jack. She and I have very different parenting styles, but I think we've both been able to really benefit from the various discussions we've had regarding parenting.

At my job, we're really making a push to transition from print journalism to online journalism using concepts like social media, branding and more to really help us further our reach in the Southern Utah community. In doing this, one of our co-workers and editors had the idea that we should take our early-morning chit chat sessions and form them into an actual Vlog series. Thus Modern Moms was born. I've had a lot of fun doing this so far, but don't worry, I have no plans to leave my print journalism job for a life in broadcast. In fact, our first couple videos are ROUGH, ya'll, so don't expect perfection.

But I am really hoping to get IDEAS from you guys, my fellow readers. What kinds of topics would you like to see us discuss? We want your questions and your comments! Please feel free to comment below or tweet me @SamSadlier.

Here is a link to the first couple videos we did, the intro and the topic on the idea of how much is too much when posting pictures of your kid online. (obviously I run this blog so my thoughts are pretty lenient on the subject.)

Our video out today is on the great pacifier debate and my journey to wean Jack of his beloved friend. (More on that later!)

So if you want to support my new vlogging venture, be sure to check it out! At the very least, get in some laughs ;)
