For the Labor of Camping

Happy back-to-work-after-a-long-weekend week!

These kinds of weekends are great, but totally throw me off my game. I need the weekend to be here so I can just reset. In the meantime, I am finally getting around to uploading all of my photos from my real camera (see, not iPhone) from our Labor Day Weekend Camping Extravaganzzzza!

We went to Fish Lake with my parents, brothers and sister in law. It was a great time, even if we didn't actually FISH at Fish Lake and froze our butts off during the freakishly cold nights. Jack had a great time. Got his first sun burn and first bloody boo boo. OUCH. (In my defense, I USED sunscreen all of the time on him, but we were outside for three days straight. He was bound to get a little color and the burn isn't bad at all.)

My parents set up their trusty old camper, while we set up our wind-proof (or not) tent. Daniel slept in the tent and Jack and I opted for the less-windy, more-warm sleeping conditions in my parent's special edition 1970s camp trailer, which was AWESOME.

Jack learned all about the wilderness, trees, bugs, climbing mountains (or stairs as he continues to call them) and outdoor cooking.

Stairs, aka mountain, aka climbing

The wind-blown look

Love this cheeseball :)

He did fall quite a few times, (lots of gravel) and only got one major owie. He was a good sport about it though and loved getting a band aid (aka sticker).

Kept pointing to it and saying "ouch" and then he'd kiss it better. haha.

He also loved following around the puppies and they loved following him around :)

Starlee

Mostly we all just had a super good time. I am not normally a camper type of girl, but it was fun spending time with my family in a different type of environment.

My pa :)

Love these two :)

RUSTY!

Uncle "Mar"

I look a little worn, but was having a great time I promise :)

Daddy-induced giggles

Cuddles with grammy and Aunt Courtney!

I LURVE this pic of him.

Pretty cool shot of the moon, which Jack was absolutely obsessed with and has been ever since. Each night he sees it and yells, "Moon! Back!" Then he says to it: "Come here!" and pats his leg like he's calling the dog. And when it fails to fall from the sky at his command, he turns to me and says, "Moon, stuck!"

Haha, yup, buddy. The moon is stuck.

Love this kid.

Hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend too!

xoxo,

Sam
