Being Social

Like many of you, I love social media. I love posting pics, over sharing about my life, liking all the cute pics you guys post of your kiddos, animals, fun family activities, hilarious memes and yes, even the political ones. 

But it's ugly out there right now, folks. In light of recent public events like the tragedy in Oregon, what's going on with Planned Parenthood, Donald Trump and lots more, I'm just over it. I need a break. 

I love a good political debate as much as the next person as long as it can be done respectfully and with balance. But it seems like there is just too much hate out there for that to be done. 

From where I sit, we should be focusing more on what's important. We should be loving each other with empathy and support but we're allowing each other to become too divided. 

Instead of recognizing that we can all want the same thing but to go about it in different ways is okay, we don't even allow each other the respect of listening to each other with empathy. It's disheartening to see. 

So this weekend, I'm taking a break. Im going to focus on what is really important in my life.
