Adventures and a weekend recap

I don't know about you all, but I am extra exhausted today! I mean, it is Monday, but sheesh. This weekend, while absolutely amazing, was also very tiring. I hardly sat down at all, which was probably a good thing considering my bruised behind.

Words of advice, BE CAREFUL when walking in the rain, holding your toddler, on slippery concrete. Ouch.

This weekend Jack and I went on a #teamJackBeanandMommy adventure to Flagstaff, AZ to see my amazing, sweet, super special cousin get married. Tressa and I were two peas in a pod when we were kids growing up close to each other. Unfortunately they moved away when Tressa was in Junior High so we didn't get to see each other as often, but getting to see her marry the love of her life and see all of my other awesome cousins and extended family this weekend was really great!

Yay Tressa and Rick!

My other cousin is married and has two sweet kiddos, Eli (almost 3) and McKinley (4 months), so we stayed at their house throughout the weekend and we had a blast! Jack and Eli were instant buddies.

At the rehearsal dinner.

Wedding eats.

And I got massive amounts of baby fever from this little cutie.

Little Kin and her mommy.

The weekend flew by, but we greatly enjoyed the wedding. Tressa looked so beautiful and I am so happy for her in this new adventure in marriage (and moving! to Colorado!)

Jack had a little huge mishap while at the reception and fell into some cactus. It was awful. It took me holding him, my brother, sister and my sister in law all plucking pricklies out of him for about 30 minutes for us to get most of them out of his tiny little body. I just held him on my lap while he shook and cried.

We left right after that and during the whole ordeal we kept saying words of encouragement to him, so as we were leaving he goes: "I such a tough widdle guy, mommy." hahahaha. It was so sweet. We got him in the car to head back to my cousin's house and he passed out so fast I was actually worried about it. I made my brother watch him really closely. haha. Then I watched him like a hawk during his two-hour nap.

:(

Then he woke up, we did an oatmeal bath, and he never talked about it the rest of the day.
Wouldn't talk about it. I'd ask him, and he would just ignore me. Traumatic, I tell ya.

But yesterday on the way home in the car, he started telling me about it. It was so crazy.

"I fell in da cactus, mommy. I got lots of pricklies! It hurt! And Marvin and Nicki took them outta my arms and my legs and my hands! And I sat in your wap (lap!)"

It was so interesting to hear him recount the whole experience. What two year old processes things that way and remembers things in such detail? It was nuts.

But he was feeling much better despite being poked and bruised all over his little body. Jack really doesn't like to stay hurt very long. He often pushes through the pain.

All in all it was a great weekend, spent with some amazing people. It was so fun to get to see my sweet little sissy again (after her move back to Colorado) and of course my bro and his wifey.

I am happy to be home again and into the swing of things. I have a feeling it's going to be a very busy week coming up!
