A Wonderful Weekend

Do you ever have those weekends that just fill you up, spiritually/emotionally/mentally? It was one of those kind of weekends for me. One I desperately needed. Had a lot of fun with my family mixed with a little downtime, but I also managed to still be a little productive too. Felt good.

Kicked off our Saturday morning with a crazy rain storm, which meant no outside bubble blowing, which is usually our go-to activity. Instead, we curled up and watched some Team Umizoomi (Jack's absolute fave show of all time. Requests it constantly, so I have to come up with all these ways to distract him lest I have a TV zombie child all day.) But for Saturday's raining morning it was perfect.

Rusty, my brother and current house guest, curled up with us on the couch (and the puppies!) It was fun.

Rusty and the pups.

But when Zoomi got to be too much,
Jack and I made a mad dash to Walmart for "Painting stuff." It's so funny how clear his words are. There is no mistaking him when he says, "Painting stuff, pwease?" So off to the store we went, painting supplies was purchased, and we made our way back home to paint.

Despite the mess, it was really fun. After bath and nap, we met up with my brother and sister in law to make our promised trip (to Rusty, he lives for this stuff) to the Halloween costume store. Everyone loved it. And yes, I realize Halloween is still a month away, but we are in the SPIRIT of things already! Bring on the fall, and the candy and the cookies and all of the fun spooky things!

At the costume store, these creepy displays scared the crap out of me, but Jack thought they were hysterical. Okay...

Rusty totally freaked.

Jack was all about activating these guys. Lol.

Pretending to be scared and holding his new trick or treating "punkin."

Afterward we went for ice cream at Cold Stone. YUM!

Productivity hit when we got home and Dan and I spent a good amount of time outside weeding our poor, neglected landscaping. I do not have photographic evidence this occurred, but I promise it did. (mom ;))

Sunday was a day of relaxation, a little too much Umizoomi, but overall it was a fun day and just what we needed.

Loooong legs!

What did you all do this weekend? Anything exciting?! Please share!

Happy Monday! Hope you all have a great week!
