Welcome back, folks, for another edition of "Jack Says."
My kid is a chatter box and a half! I can't even believe his vocabulary for just being a week shy of 16 months. It's crazy, but I love it.
He's officially saying PHRASES, stringing together two to three words.
He's got a few that he says a lot:
"Where did he/it go?"
"What are you doing?"
"No, mine" (that one's reeeeal cute, not. lol)
"Up, down" (says them both at the same time regardless if he wants up or down, lol)
He also knows pretty much all his body parts if you ask him to point whichever ones out to you and can accurately say the words too.
Daniel and I tried counting all the words he uses on a regular basis, but lost count at about 100. He's just got a lot to say, I guess!
He also drew the letter A, sorta, on a window the other day and said, "A!" and started clapping at himself. hahaha. Humble, kid, that one.
I've been reading a lot about ways you should compliment your kids without actually causing harm like by inflating their ego too much so they don't think they don't have to work hard. And really, I guess you really aren't supposed to praise them for being smart. You should praise them for working hard. Makes sense to me, it does. But I can't help but tell Jack all of the time was a little smarty pants he is. haha. Oops!
It's pretty funny though because his vocabulary is pretty reflective of what I say, so it's been funny listening to him and realizing how often I say certain things.
He is starting to walk around calling everything "cute."
He says, "Alright!" and "Cool!" when he's excited about something.
He also really likes to narrate what we are doing:
"Daddy potty!"
"I coloring!"
Oh, the coloring. That's been fun. Jack wants to draw. on. everything. We have to keep all writing utensils, chalk, anything under close supervision. I've spent many a minutes wiping chalk off my walls, ha!
Thanks for tuning in to another post of Jack Says!
