If you haven't tuned into my recent sappy posts, let me inform you, my little man is now 12 months old! Yes, this equals 365+ days, which equals one year. I'm slowly getting over my shock. Just like I am slowly getting over the shock of turning around and seeing a little man WALKING behind me! It still freaks me out when I see him biped, walking with two legs across the floor. Kid is a walking PRO. He loves it. Crawling is old school and outdated in our house and is only used under the most extreme of circumstances, aka when mommy puts him in a sleeper with slippery footies that don't work well on tile flooring. lol.
I can't believe I've done 12 of these updates now. It's crazy to see how much he's changed and grown over the past year. He slowly turns more into a little boy over a baby each day.
Stop, time. Just stop it right now.
Let's get to the good stuff:
Jack's 12 Month Update:
Weight: 22 lbs
Length: 31-32 inches. (guess)
Teeth: Eight
Food: His favorites are clam chowder (kid can eat ridiculous amounts of the stuff), I'm starting him on a little almond milk, which he still can't decide if he likes or not, string cheese, yogurt, fruit and puffs.
Diapers: Still mostly in cloth, but size 4-5 disposable.
Sleep: He's sleeping great at night and sometimes will take naps in his crib! Win!
Jack also loves:
Walking!
The park.
His grandpa.
He echos a lot of works we say, but says a lot too that he clearly knows the meaning to. Book, cookie, pup pup, mama, dada, no, yes, some, num num, cheese. He currently has about 15 words in his vocabulary that he actually understands meaning and will use the words correctly. Little chatterbox!
Listening to his little baby babble is seriously the cutest thing ever. I love it. I could listen to him walk and talk around the house all day long. Cracks me up. He takes himself very seriously sometimes. haha.
Mostly, I am just so happy to be this little guy's mom. I'm still breastfeeding, but no longer pumping at work, so that is rad. Will probably continue nursing him for a while yet. It's only a couple times a day and mostly at night and it seems to be working well for both of us. Plus, it's still assisting in my weight loss I think, and as long as that continues, I'll be happy. lol. Speaking of weight loss, I have reached my official goal weight and would love to drop another ten pounds, but I'll settle for toning instead. I'm not so concerned with the number on the scale, but it feels good to feel confident in my clothes again and healthy!
I'll probably do a photo dump of our birthday party/actual birthday pics here soon, so if you aren't friends with me on FB and want to see those, stay tuned!
