I love this stage with Jack. He's still growing rapidly, his babbling, furniture cruising, curious exploration of anything and everything.
Trapped!!
He is so fun.
We went to the doctor yesterday for Jack's well check. His hemoglobin levels are great so no worries there and everything else with his development looks great!
Let's move on to his 10 month stats:
Let's move on to his 10 month stats:
Weight: 20.5 lbs. I guess I was off in my guess last time. He's in the 44 percentile for weight when he used to be in the high 70s, but his pediatrician said it is normal for them to level off and even drop in percentiles at this stage since they are so mobile and burning so many calories.
Length: 29 inches.
Teeth: Top two and bottom two, but his gums have been really swollen the past few days around the spots for his eye teeth.
Food: Pretty much anything we are eating. He loves sliced turkey meat. He eats some purees but mostly only when we are out and about and I give him one of the pouches of mixed fruits and veggies. He loves those things. He still loves his snacks like puffs and cereal. He's a big fan of carrots, banana and peas.
Diapers: Still mostly in cloth, but size 4 disposable.
Sleep: I don't want to jinx myself, so I probably should skip this portion all together. But I have to shout this from the rooftops. He's been SLEEPING SO WELL!!!!! *knocks on wood* He's figuring out how to self sooth when he starts waking during his sleep cycles. All without having to resort to crying it out. *brushes shoulders*
Naps still suck though. I fear he may be transitioned to just one nap a day now. He usually takes one cat nap earlier in the day, around 20-30 minutes and then another longer 1.5-2 hour nap later in the afternoon. I also still have to hold him the entire time, but oh well. With the way time is flying so fast, he'll be grown out of nap time and I will have to fight for a cuddle. So I am soaking it up now.
Other developments: He's mastered pulling up on tables, couches, the bed, etc. He does well walking along the furniture and with his new walker toy. He can even stand unassisted, but as soon as he realizes he's not holding on to anything, he drops to the ground and starts giggling.
Outlets!!! Playing on the mirror at our Free 2 Feed group meeting.
His biggest advancement for this stage has been his vocabulary. He's doing really well at copying sounds. Said "tootee" the other day after I said "cookie." He also says "doogie" for "doggie," says "mama," "dada" and "mine" when he wants something.
He understands so much more too. Since he's become an expert head shaker, he shakes his head "no" at me every time I ask him a question, regardless of what I'm asking. I just think it's fascinating he understands the question inflection in our voices. It's crazy! He also sometimes throws in a "no, no, no" for good measure if he really doesn't want to do something. Like a diaper change/jammie time.
Aside from some words, he is constantly babbling and talking. He shares his food, paci, etc. especially if you ask him if you can have some. It's really cute.

I know I say this a lot but Jack is seriously the happiest kid. I almost can't even get a picture of him where he's not smiling or grinning. He's got these deep belly laughs that are just infectious. He's sweet and loveing and has the funniest personality.
I am starting to miss that squishy little baby, but I love watching him transform into a little boy practically over night. It's exciting and I cannot wait to see how he continues to grow and change.
I love being his mama :)
