I've been sick for a million years, and Jack and Daniel have both caught the bug, so the past few nights have been a bit rough around our house. But Jack is still all smiles.
Ain't no sickness gonna keep this baby down.
In other news, I finally got our Christmas shopping all done! No Christmas-Eve shopping for this family. Not THIS year. Woot! Now, I just need to get everything all shipped :) There's still time, right??
I finally got our holiday cards shipped yesterday, so hopefully those at least will make it by the holidays.
I got all caught up on the shows I watch and their mid-season finales. Anyone watch "Revenge"?? How was that for a shocker!? I was so glad they finally showed who shot Emily. I was worried they would leave us hanging again.
And I totally called Tessanne Chin winning The Voice! I called Danielle Bradbery when I first started watching the show last season. Two for two!
And now, I've started watching Parenthood's past seasons on Netflix. Love this show! I don't know how it took me so long to finally get around to watching it!
Watching TV is getting harder these days now that Jack is actually watching the screen when I try and watch something. I'm not going to be crazy about ZERO screen time before age 2, but I definitely want to limit it as much as I can. So now, no or little TV when Jack is awake. The biggest reason I used to watch TV when he was younger was for background noise because it is so quiet in our house. For now, the noise void is filled with Christmas tunes. :)
Only six days left of Christmas music! I am very specific about Christmas music. Can't listen to it until Thanksgiving Day and I immediately stop by Dec. 26. It's how I don't get burned out on it, I guess.
Other than Christmas shopping, recovering from illness and cozying up on the couch watching way too much TV, I am just becoming increasingly amazed and my son's ability to learn and master a new skill each day. I swear, I had no idea their development was so quick at this stage. He went from crawling just a few weeks ago, to now pulling up on everything, using the furniture to walk around, walking while just holding on to my finger and standing unassisted for a few seconds at a time.
"Couch surfing"
It's incredible! But also makes me a little sad to see my baby grow so quickly! But the older he gets, the sweeter he gets. He loves to cuddle and loves his blanket and his monkey. As soon as he has them, he curls up on top of them on the floor. It's hilarious.
"Aww"
This blanket is actually a throw my mom got me last year for Christmas. It's apparently not mine any longer :)
And now, dear readers, I must get back to earning a paycheck, so I hope you all are happy and healthy and gearing up for the holidays, whichever you celebrate.
