Luna Marina: Month Eight

Another month has gone by and we've had another month of us growing more and more in love with little lady Luna whose personality is really starting to shine. She's funny and silly and absolutely adores all of us right back. These days go by so quickly, so I am doing my best to hold on to every moment while I can.

I remember saying when Jack was about eight months old, that was a really fun stage in babyhood for him. And Luna is following that same path.  She's becoming increasingly mobile and is so smart. I love watching her grow and learn.

Her stats:

Weight: 21 (estimate)
Length: 27 inches (estimate)
Clothing:  6-9 months and some 12 month, size 3 diapers. But she should really be in size 4, I think.
Teething: Officially 3, but the top left is pushing through now.
Nicknames: Luna Bug, Buggie, Bunny, Lu-Lu, Little Princess.
Words: mama, dada, bubba, hi and lots of screaming and squealing. lol.

Sleep: It's still hit and miss, but her naps are going pretty well. She usually takes her first nap around 11 a.m.. which lasts about an hour. (the other day was 3 hours long! hello, leap!) and then her second nap is around 3-4 and only lasts an hour, if that. The other day she took a third evening nap, which isn't usual. I must have really worn the kids out that day because Jack fell asleep next to me on the couch too. ha! and he doesn't nap at all anymore.

Night sleep is good. She's still co-sleeping and I don't anticipate that ending anytime soon. Still contemplating a family bed situation so I can stop sleeping on the literal edge of my king size bed at night since her brother hasn't gotten the hang of staying all night in his bed yet either. lol. She goes to bed usually anytime from 7-8 and then sleeps until about 8-8:30 the next morning.

Eating: She's finally doing solids! yaya. haha. I was a little worried there for a min. She's picking up on baby led weaning pretty well. She loves crackers. She also loves feeding herself purees from the bags. Luna is so far a fan of most veggies and fruits. I hope she is a good eater and not as picky as another child of mine...

This Snoofy Bee changing pad is a total game changer when you have a mobile baby. It keeps her entertained and in place long enough for me to change a diaper, plus it prevents her from trying to grab during poopy changes. Highly recommended!

Mobility: Luna is officially a crawler and a scooter and a puller-upper. She's not as mobile as some babies I know her age and some younger, but that doesn't surprise me. She's just like her brother in that regard. Not going to lie, I like having cautious kids. lol. Makes baby proofing easier. :P

Luna Likes:
  • Mommy
  • Daddy
  • Brother.
  • Freyja Puppy
  • Playing with toys. (mostly Jack's toys)
  • Playing with household items that aren't toys at all.
  • Chewing on everything.
  • Being held.
  • Music.
  • Dance parties.
  • Peek a boo.
  • Reading.
  • Video chatting.
  • Bath time.
  • Giving kisses.
  • Eating crackers, or basically anything she can munch on and hold by herself.

Luna dislikes:
  • Being tired
  • Being ignored.
  • When I won't let her play with my computer/ipad/phone.
  • Teething
  • When I take away potentially dangerous objects
  • When I don't share my food/drinks.
  • When she doesn't get picked up on first demand.
She's currently crawling on me, trying to reach the computer. I pull it away and now she crawls after me, crying out in protest.

A message from Luna:  h bg y tt y t'

Translation: "Someone save me. Mom keeps taking away her computer."

She really is a feisty gal and I am so lucky to be her mama. (remind me I said that when she's a feisty three year old. lol)

Thanks for reading all about my little Luna, everyone. I really appreciate the support. <3
