Luna Marina: Month Seven

Let's just pretend that I am not two weeks behind doing this update, okay? Mom life is keeping me pretty busy these days. With an almost four year old and a increasingly-mobile seven month old, I'm busy, but also loving just about every moment. Poor Miss Luna has gotten hit pretty hard the past couple weeks with this norovirus that is super contagious and keeps coming back around to get her. I am sanitizing her toys like crazy as well as the rest of the house though so I am hoping we've been able to get rid of it for good.

And when she isn't sick, Luna is teeeeeeething. FUN FUN. Let me tell you... *Sentence dripping with sarcasm*

But all in all, she is so much fun to be around. She's got us all wrapped around her finger. She's the perfect caboose to our little family. She thinks the sun rises on her big brother's face and eagerly tries to wake him up each morning with slaps to his face. haha. That's what he gets for still crawling into our bed each night. :P Although I am sure he doesn't mind it. Jack's joy is finding new ways to make his sister laugh. He hates it when she cries and often tries to jump in and help whenever she's crying. He loves to share with her and teach her new tricks and skills. I am so excited to see what their relationship holds as they get older.

Let's look at her stats:

Weight: 19 lbs (estimate)
Length: 27 inches (estimate)
Clothing:  6-9 months, size 3 diapers.
Teething: The two on the bottom are very prominent and the two tops have just cut through!
Nicknames: Luna Bug, Buggie, Lu-Lu, Little Princess.
Words: She's officially got two words now: Mama and bubba. We often refer to Jack as brother, so she says bubba anytime she wants him, which is all the time. haha.

Sleep:
I'm probably going to jinx myself, but naps have been going really well! She's finally taking a lot of her naps on her own. Once in a while I still have to put her in the carrier for a nap, but usually she does best if I nurse her down on the bed and just let her sleep there. Once she gets mobile though, that's not going to work. I can't risk her crawling off the bed while I'm downstairs with Jack. So I need to start thinking of what I'm going to do next.

Bedtime sleep is pretty good most nights though. We do bath, books and then nurse to sleep. Usually she goes to bed anywhere from 7-8. She's definitely more of an early-to-bed sleeper than Jack. He still goes to bed at like 10 each night.

Eating:
She pretty much still just breastfeeds. She's not a huge fan of purees or baby cereals, and my attempts at Baby Led Weaning have been unsuccessful so far. She just gags and then pukes. So we've tabled that for the time being.

  • Being ignored
  • When I don't hold her 95 percent of the day.

Ignore my disgusted look. lol. It was really bright out there! But she thinks the snow is pretty cool.

This little lady is weeks away from crawling, and I'll admit, I'm not that excited about it. I know what its like to have a mobile baby and it definitely forces me to bring my mom game up a notch. haha. But I am excited to see my baby girl learn and grow and enjoy doing it in the process. Our lives haven't been the same since Luna was born and I am so grateful we have her.

Happy Seven (and a half) Months, Baby Lu!
